About Mathematics EduLarp

Mathematics EduLarp (agreement 2019-1-CZ01-KA201-061377) is an European project funded by Erasmus+, KA2 Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices. It is currently being developed by VŠB – Technická univerzita Ostrava, Università degli studi di Genova and Universidad de Cantabria from Czech Republic, Italy and Spain, respectively. The project is led by the Czech partner.

The project started on September 1, 2019 and has a duration of 36 months.

 

This is a local website developed by the Spanish partner. Therefore, it focuses mainly on the actions carried out by the University of Cantabria partner.

EduLarp stands for Educational Live Action Role Playing. It is an educational experience in which both teacher and students take a role as part of a narrative. This educational experience deeply immerses participants in detailed roles that facilitate active experimentation.

The purpose of the project is to develop and verify in practice Mathematics EduLarp programme, which will be used for the high schools as a supplement to the teaching mathematics or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines. In particular, Mathematics Edularp aims to:

  • Develop mathematical competence.
  • Open new ideas and new approach among the community of mathematics education (teachers, teacher educators, and researchers).
  • Improve social competences the educational role-playing game.
  • Contribute to the progress of the pedagogical methology Edularp.

Researchers on the University of Cantabria team belong to the Open STEAM Group, that is coordinated by Jose M. Diego-Mantecón.
